James Buchler - Dedicated Educator and Community Arts Advocate

Fort Wayne, Indiana-based educator James Buchler has built a career centered on teaching art in academic curriculum. James Buchler earned a master’s degree from Indiana University. He has also undertaken extensive professional development, including workshops in Montessori education, environmental learning, and resources for students with autism spectrum disorders.

While studying at Indiana University, James Buchler demonstrated strong academic performance, leadership, and service. He took on roles in residence hall governance, participated in several campus organizations, and volunteered as a tutor supporting adult learners. His accomplishments include multiple dean’s list recognitions, membership in academic honor societies, and a high score on a university leadership assessment.

James Buchler served as an art teacher at East Allen County Schools from 2015 to 2024. In this role, he planned engaging art lessons, coordinated school art clubs, and organized creative events such as Fine Arts Day and the FAME Art Show. His students have earned multiple recognitions in the school district. In 2018, he was honored as Woodlan Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Buchler has been involved with The Art Association of Indiana since 2010 and previously supported Art to Remember as a fundraiser coordinator. He is a member of the Art Education Association of Indiana.
